The funnies are not just for Sunday anymore. Two weekends in May will be dedicated to the Peanuts comic strip when the Shakespeare Institute of Nevada presents You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown at 8 p.m. tonight, May 15, 16, 22 and 23 at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Tickets start at $12.

The creative mind of cartoonist Charles M. Schulz has been transformed from the pages of a newspaper to the glamour of the Broadway stage for nearly 50 years. Now, Henderson residents will have the chance to share their memories of the beloved Peanuts gang with their children with the 1999 Tony award-winning version made famous by actress Kristen Chenoweth who starred as Charlie Brown's sister, Sally.

With music and lyrics by Clark Gesner, the 90-minute musical takes audiences on an adventure through a day in the life of Charlie Brown. With a little help from his friends, including Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and Snoopy, fans of all ages will be entertained with the comedic sequences of mishaps and misunderstandings that occur in just one day. As they battle the kite-eating tree, the baseball season and the Red Baron, the Peanuts gang teams up for a number of energetic songs like "Happiness," "My Blanket and Me," and "The Baseball Game."

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown features a cast of talented international and national performers, including James Simpson (Charlie Brown) from the United Kingdom and Kate Gordon (Sally), who has toured with Andrea Bocelli. The play also includes an impressive list of local entertainers. Donte Miller (Schroeder) is a veteran of Las Vegas' Broadway in the Hood; Aron Shanley (Linus) has performed in Jubilee! and Folies Bergere; Kirsten Heibert (Lucy) teaches dance, theater and music in Henderson; and Coree Davis (Snoopy) is a Henderson native who has performed in Shrek: The Musical, Legally Blonde and RENT.
