In anticipation of the upcoming lift of the gay marriage ban in Nevada, producer/director Troy Heard proudly announces the Vegas debut of the interactive comedy dinner show Joni and Gina's Wedding at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and Event Center. Written by Marianne Basford and Ann Lippert, Joni and Gina's Wedding enjoyed a six-year run in Los Angeles with such notorious stars as Alison "Nellie Oleson" Arngrim and adult film star Herschel Savage.

"Yes, there are numerous wedding-type shows out there, but this will be the only current Vegas show that is LGBTQ-themed," says producer/co- director Troy Heard, "Joni and Gina's resonates because these characters have heart to spare. You want to be best friends with them by the time the night is over."

In this "almost" holy matrimony, Lippert and Basford have crafted characters that both reaffirm and defy stereotype: Joni Gottlieb, with her kvetching Jewish mother and car salesman father, is head over heels in love with Gina Spaulding, an All-American military brat who knows the value of a good "Oo-ah!" Jealous ex-girlfriend Maureen fills in as "Best Woman" while loyal friend Rychard acts as wedding-planner-slash-Best-Man. Gay, straight, or in-between...you're all cordially invited to share in their celebration! And unlike other interactive shows, if you're not the "immersive" type of theatre-goer, you won't feel left out of any of the action.

Joni and Gina's Wedding plays alternating Thursdays beginning tonight, October 2 at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and Event Center, 1201 Las Vegas Blvd. S. Check-in and cocktails start at 6:45 p.m. and the ceremony begins promptly at 7:30. Tickets are $59.95 for General Admission, which includes the show, buffet, non-alcoholic beverage, and champagne toast; and $79.95 for VIP which includes the above, premium seating, and special wedding gift. Las Vegas locals receive $10.00 off General Admission with valid I.D. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.joniandgina.com.
