The Houston Symphony will honor the great Louis Armstrong and his musical masterpieces in a concert January 18, 19 and 20. Joining the orchestra will be Byron Stripling, a prominent figure in the modern American jazz scene. Stripling was chosen to portray Louis Armstrong himself in Broadway's Satchmo, a musical based on the life of the musician and inspired by Armstrong's musical style.

The Symphony will perform timeless classics such as "Sweet Georgia Brown," "Bourbon Street Parade" and "Sing, Sing, Sing" while Stripling is featured both vocally and on trumpet. Audience members are invited to sit back, relax and allow the music to transport them to a different era, or a "wonderful world."
