Stage Door Inc. to Kick Off 2014 Summer Youth Academy, Featuring ALADDIN JR., 7/7

Looking for a safe, fun environment for your kids this summer? Stage Door Inc. Center for the Performing Arts and Education is pleased to announce its 2014 SUMMER YOUTH ACADEMY, a summer musical theatre class for students from ages 4 to 17. This year's show selection is Disney's timeless story ALADDIN JR.

Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where we're about to begin the fantastic tale of the street rat who became a prince! All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film including Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more are here in this musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides. - As well as new songs that will get our audiences up on its feet!

Enroll your child(ren) in our Summer Youth Academy -- a six-week intensive program that teaches them all the ins and outs of a working theatre! They will learn about acting, dancing, singing, set design and building, costume creation, prop mastering, lighting and sound techniques -- and enhance their communication and teamwork skills along the way!

The Summer Academy is designed to encourage teamwork, personal integrity, self-esteem and a life-long appreciation for live theatre. Stage Door Inc. Summer Youth Academy is for students ready to develop or increase skills in all areas of musical theatre. Class time includes learning music, staging, choreography, and rehearsal terminology.

The Summer Youth Academy runs Mondays - Thursdays, JULY 7th - AUGUST 16th (10am - 5:30pm) for six weeks at a cost of $550. Early drop off is available for $650. Early drop off means the students can be dropped off at the theatre at 8am. Parents can receive a $25(per child) discount when registering more than one student from the same family (siblings; up to 3 students). The registration for this summer program is limited to the first 50 students that register.

Registration with Orientation day is Saturday June 21, 2014 at 3pm. Registration forms are available by calling Stage Door Inc.'s Box-office at (832) 582-7606. However, if you come to the open house on May 31 from 5-9p.m., register your child and pay in full, you will receive a $100 discount!
