Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score, Titanic: The Musical comes to the Amaturo Theater for a striking production by Slow Burn Theatre Company from Thursday, January 19 - Sunday, February 5.

Titanic took Broadway by storm in 1997, the same year director James Cameron offered movie goers a different tale of the historic voyage. Recalling the real millionaires, aristocrats and immigrants who sailed the "ship of dreams" during those fateful days in 1912, Titanic tells how the events unfolded with humor, pathos and stirring, unforgettable music from the creative team of composer and lyricist Maury Yeston, book writer Peter Stone and orchestrator Ian Weinberger.

"We are performing a new version that has 20 actors playing over 60 characters," Fitzwater said. "The score has been re- orchestrated beautifully to capture the intimacy of these real life passengers during the comedy and drama of this momentous voyage."

Matthew Korinko as the ship's designer, Andrew Rodriguez-Triana as the ship's owner and Alan Gerstel as the captain are part of a powerful cast of local performers portraying the crew and passengers including Aaron Atkinson, Alexa Baray, Gary Dirda, Justen Fox-Hall, Sunny Gay, David Hyman, David Klein, Mallory Newbrough, Ann Marie Olson, Sahid Pabon, Casey Sacco, Leah Sessa, James Skiba, Victor Souffrant, Troy Stanley, Landon Summers and Jordan Wolfe.

Director and Choreographer Patrick Fitzwater leads a creative team which features music director Manny Schvartzman, scenic designer Sean McClelland, costume designer Rick Pena, lighting designer Thomas Schorock and Sound Designer Rich Szczublewski.

Describing the themes of the musical, Stone wrote, "This is the factual story of that ship-of her officers, crew and passengers, to be sure-but she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our Titanic is the Titanic herself."
