The Pompano Beach Cultural Center, which opened this past May, is proud to announce the newest additions to the performance calendar. The venue is featuring the finest regional companies, along with internationally acclaimed acts such as the Marcus Roberts Trio.

"We are off to a phenomenal first season," said Alyona Ushe, President and CEO of The Creatives, which programs and manages the dramatically designed venue located on Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach. "We are so proud of our incredibly talented Cultural Alliance members. These outstanding resident companies bring a diverse and exciting series of programs to the venue. In addition, we will be showcasing dynamic performances by nationally recognized artists, creating special events and hosting world-class art exhibits."

Symphony of the Americas presents Summerfest 2017

Florida's longest running music festival is back! Symphony of the Americas, a Broward County designated Major Cultural Institution, presents its 26th Anniversary Summerfest, under the direction of Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, featuring soloists from Switzerland, Italy, and Mexico along with musicians of acclaimed orchestras throughout Europe including Gewandhaus Orchester of Germany, Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome, Orchestra Symphonique du Mont Blanc, Europe's Music for and more, representing over 10 different countries joined in cultural exchange by principal musicians of Symphony of the Americas.

Classical and popular music for strings includes Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Moncayo, Ravel's Bolero and more. Piazzolla tangos, and a commissioned work by Italian composer Lorenzo Turchi-Floris. Soloists include acclaimed Swiss guitarist, Alessio Nebiolo, as well as David Pedraza of Mexico, and Valentin Mansurov of Russia.

American Roots of Jamaican Music: The Legacy featuring Eugene Grey

Rootz of Music, Inc. is proud to present a historical musical extravaganza that chronicles the development of popular songs that were the foundation in both Jamaica and the Americas starting from the mid 1940's to present time. Led by world class Jamaican guitarist, composer, arranger, music instructor Eugene Grey, the show will also feature singers and dancers performing the music of the popular artists of each era such as Louis Jordan, Harry Belafonte, Byron Lee and the Dragoneers . This innovative and entertaining musical presentation is staged to demonstrate the interconnectivity of American and Jamaican music and how two separate elements of two genres merged and became what is now known as Reggae and Hip Hop.

Jazz legend Wynton Marsalis has hailed Marcus Roberts as "the genius of modern piano." Roberts amazing story has been profiled on 60 Minutes, Charlie Rose, Tavis Smiley, NPR and more.

The Marcus Roberts Trio is known for its virtuosic style and entirely new approach to jazz trio performance. While most jazz trios have the piano front and center, all members of the Marcus Roberts Trio share equally in shaping the direction of the music by changing its tempo, mood, texture, or form at any time. And they do this with lightning quick musical reflexes and creative imaginations. The trio is known for having almost telepathic communication on the stage. And more than a few concert goers have been heard to say that it sounds like a lot more than three people up there on the stage!

Outré Theater Company presents American Idiot

Outré Theater Company brings Green Day's punk opera American Idiot to South Florida. Written as a response to the political climate of the era of "extraordinary rendition," the Patriot Act, and "freedom fries," American Idiot follows three friends as they struggle to choose between their dreams and the gray anesthesia of suburbia.
