St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook presents Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, with music by Galt MacDermot. This 1960s musical remains timely and popular because of its commentary on love, peace, and politics. The story focuses on Berger (Gannon Styles, Northville), Claude (Dan Clair, Canton), and Sheila (Bridget Leary, Bloomfield Hills), along with the rest of the "tribe" as they attempt to reconcile their desire for personal freedom with the traditional expectations put in place by their parents and society. Hair will be a crowd-favorite with hit songs "Aquarius," "Let the Sunshine," and "Hair".

This production is being Directed by Peggy Lee (Lake Orion), and Assistant Directed by Janie Minchella (Sterling Heights). Music Direction by Bruce Snyder (Commerce) with assistance from Dianne Cragg (Berkley), and Choreography by Roberta Campion (Southfield) with assistance from Stephanie Peltier (Royal Oak). The production features a stellar cast of familiar faces, and some brand new to the St. Dunstan's stage.

Lee is extremely enthusiastic about this musical and can't wait to share her vision with audiences: "Hair is a show that promotes peace, love and acceptance of all human beings. It's about being who we are, and being able to share ourselves with others who will embrace and celebrate our differences. We want to leave the audience with a feeling of hope and awareness that we are all in this life together. As one character says 'Be whoever you are, do whatever you want to do, just so long as you don't hurt anybody.' "

Key members of the design and production team include Pam Richards (Producer), Dan Rose (Set Design), Tom Edson and Michael Campion (Set Construction), Janie Minchella (Costumes), Rachel Biber (Hair/Makeup), Sean Keskes (Light Design), Bob Minchella (Sound Design), and Michael Campion (Props Master).

St. Dunstan's will present Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical tonight, May 29, 30 and June 5, 6, 11, 12 & 13, 2015 in the Outdoor Greek Theatre. All shows begin at 8:00 p.m. and open seating begins one hour before each performance. Tickets are $20 each for adults and $18 each for students and seniors.
