In a modern retelling of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic about duality and temptation, Slipstream Theater Initiative is thrilled to present Dr. Heidi Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll is a talented, dedicated Midwestern pharmaceutical researcher, facing the daily struggles of sobriety.

As the stresses of success and modern culture take their toll, she tries everything to keep her alter-ego from emerging. But Ms. Hyde is only ever a sip away, threatening to undo the life Dr. Jekyll has created for herself. As Dr Jekyll fights the threat of relapse, her world begins unraveling around her, leaving only the question: what is real and what is perception?

Adapted from the original novella for the 21st century by Luna Alexander and Victoria Weatherspoon, Dr. Heidi Jekyll is an honest and intimate look at the daily efforts of recovery, forgiveness, addiction and human connection.

The cast features Mandy Logsdon as Dr. Jekyll, Laura Heikkinen as Hyde, Ryan Ernst as Mr. Utterson, Mr. Poole and Dr. Carew, and Steve Xander Carson as Mr. Enfield, Mr. Guest and Dr. Lanyon. The production and adaptation is directed by Luna Alexander and Victoria Weatherspoon, with technical design and execution by Ryan Ernst, and costumes by Tiaja Sabrie. Our production includes adult themes with some strong language.

The production runs Sunday, February 19th through Sunday, March 12th. Opening weekend features 7 pm shows on Sunday, February 19th, and Monday, February 20th. Shows will then run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7pm. Tickets are $12 in advance only and available via www.slipstreamti.com or by emailing InsideTheSlipstream@gmail.com. Slipstream Theatre Initiative is located at 460 Hilton in Ferndale, MI.
