In what has become a Slipstream tradition, September brings the world premiere of an original play, A Night of Stars with Tennessee Williams. Join us for a tour of famous and infamous stars, led by a man admired by more stars than any other: the one and only Tennessee Williams! Appearances on the tour include Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Bette Davis, Truman Capote, Katharine Hepburn, and many more along the way. As in all good tours, the history becomes almost more realistic than the present as the ghosts from the past materialize as flesh and blood. Written by Wilde Award-winner Maxim Vinogradov, this script recently won the Hopwood Award in Drama as well as the Dennis McIntyre Prize.

The cast features Slipstream Artistic Director Bailey Boudreau as the iconic Tennessee Williams. He is joined by audience and critic favorite, Jan Cartwright alongside returning Slipstream members Tiaja Sabrie and Steve Xander Carson. This year's Rising Star nominee Jackson Abohasira and company founder and technical director Ryan Ernst add their consummate talents to the ensemble. And, in following the tradition of Love is Strange by local playwright Sean Paraventi and B.F.'s! by local playwright and critic Frank Anthony Polito, the rest of the cast is made up of students from West Bloomfield High School: Grace Jolliffe, Izzi Eyles, Blake Ehrlichman, and Grace Trivax. The production is directed by Victoria Rose Weatherspoon and Maxim Vinogradov, with technical design and execution by Ryan Ernst. Bailey Boudreau serves as costume designer.

Asking if he lived the right life, Tennessee and his assistant guide the audience through the museum of his hazy mind, revisiting lovers, siblings, and stars upon stars. But what happens when Tennessee tries to change the events of his past? What aspects of our legacy do we try to suppress, and which do we try to showcase? Slipstream asks what is worth keeping, and what is better off left undone. Be sure to bring a piece of your own legacy (that you don't mind giving away!) to add to the museum display!

The production runs weekends August 26th through September 17th, with Thursday and Friday performances on 9/7, 9/8, 9/14, and 9/15. Performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance only and available via www.slipstreamti.com or by emailing InsideTheSlipstream@gmail.com. Slipstream Theatre Initiative is located at 460 Hilton in Ferndale.
