Ebenezer Scrooge's heart is hard as stone, but a handful of ghosts and one special little boy will teach him what Christmas really means when Meadow Brook Theatre presents its 33rd annual production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Scroll down for a sneak peek at the cast!

"This show is a magical event. We love being able to surprise and entertain people year after year," said Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. "Whether they're here with a school group or family, everyone gets into the spirit of the show."

MBT veteran Thomas D. Mahard, returns to the role of Ebenzer Scrooge this year. Mahard has played Scrooge for the past few years, but has appeared in one role or another in more than 1,000 performances throughout the 33 years MBT has presented the seasonal favorite.

Once again this year, two local children have the honor of sharing the role of Tiny Tim. Mason Podhorsky of Milford and William Powers of Ann Arbor each have several turns as the boy who helps Scrooge find his Christmas spirit. The cast also includes Mark Rademacher (Ghost of Jacob Marley and the Spirit of Christmas Present), Sara Catheryn Wolf (Spirit of Christmas Past), Rusty Mewha (Spirit of Christmas Future), and Tobin Hissong and Jean Lyle Lepard as Bob and Martha Cratchit.

Meadow Brook Theatre is pleased to have several local actors in its largest cast of the season, including several children from the area. "It's a great experience for everyone involved," said Travis Walter, MBT artistic director. "The kids who get to experience their dreams of being on stage are especially excited, but the whole cast is thrilled to be able to give so many this holiday gift."

The Meadow Brook Theatre adaptation was written and originally staged by Charles Nolte. MBT Associate Director, Terry W. Carpenter directs this season's production, with original choreography by Jan Puffer. Scenic design is by Peter Hicks, lighting by Reid G.
