The Famous Vampire story that haunts our hearts comes alive in a new musical form that restores the suspense and seduction of the classic novel to the stage. When Lucy falls ill with an unusual blood disease, Van Helsing is called in to try to save her. Will he be too late? Does this have anything to do with the mysterious stranger who recently moved to London?

This new musical based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" was written by John R. Briggs and Dennis West. Meadow Brook Theatre is excited to stage this Michigan premiere, mixing the gothic vampire story with rock opera styling.

A mix of familiar and new faces kicks off the season for MBT audiences. Billy Konsoer, a hit in last season's "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" plays Count Dracula, while MBT veteran, Paul Hopper, is Professor Van Helsing. Andrea Mellos plays Wilhelmina and Katie Hardy is Lucy. Both also appeared in "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do." Eric Gutman (Jonathan Harker) and Caleb Gilbert (Doctor Seward) are making their Meadow Brook debuts.

The remainder of the cast includes Janet Caine, Jennifer George and Ann O'Brien as Dracula's wives, Rusty Mewha as Arthur Holmwood and Alex Pedica, Christopher Tefft and Renee Turner as townspeople. The cast also includes several local children.

Meadow Brook Theatre Artistic Director Travis W. Walter directs. Daniel Feyer is the musical director. Brian Kessler is the set designer, with costume design by Liz Moore, Lighting design by Reid G. Johnson and sound design by Mike Duncan. Terry W. Carpenter is the stage manager.

Tickets range from $24 to $39 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or going online at www.ticketmaster.com.  Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group discounts.
