Meadow Brook Theatre is excited to announce "Feet for Seats" a 5K fun run/walk on the campus of Oakland University. This fundraising event has been planned to raise awareness to the professional theatre, which has been located on OU's campus since 1966. "We put on exciting shows," says managing director Cheryl Marshall, "but in these tough economic times we need to rally around our local arts organizations and raise funds as well as awareness."

The event will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Check-in begins at 8:00 am at MBT with the 5K to start at 9:00 am. After the event stick around as there will be a special performance by Jill Jack in front of the theatre and lots of other fun surprises. As a special bonus, participants will be able to purchase individual tickets to MBT's upcoming season immediately following the walk. Single tickets won't go on sale to the general public until September 21, 2009 so participants will be getting priority seating. You can sign up to participate in the walk at www.feetforseats.org. You can also find more information about the event at www.mbtheatre.com.

Meadow Brook Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and as such relies on the support of individuals in the community to continue producing Broadway quality shows at an affordable price.
