Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that's so far north, it's almost not in the United States-it's almost in Canada. And it almost doesn't exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it's just...Almost.

The Henry Ford College (HFC) Theatre Arts Department Summer Stock presents Almost, Maine, which will run through July 2 in the Adray Auditorium, located in the Grant U. MacKenzie Fine Arts Center (Building F on the main campus) at 5101 Evergreen Rd., Dearborn, Michigan.Henry Ford's production will mirror the original production's casting: four actors will portray over 20 different characters.

Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis and populated with characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere, 'Almost, Maine' is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery.

HFC's Summer Stock is a unique blend of professional actors, alumnae, alumni, and current students designed to produce a high-quality summer theatre experience.

Four actors will portray more than 20 characters.

Amanda Bates, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Acting from Eastern Michigan University. Bates has appeared in Pippin (Fastrada), The Comedy of Errors (Adrianna), The Winter's Tale (Hermione) and Ubu Roi (General). She was an ensemble writer for the sketch "As Ypsi as We Wanna Be" in collaboration with Second City.

Another Almost, Maine cast member is Jenny Popovich. Popovich has a BFA degree in acting from Ball State University and appeared last summer in the professional production of The Berkshire Theatre Group's Fiorello! directed by Bob Moss. She will appear in Minnetrista Cultural Center's production of Fairies, Sprites, and Lights in Muncie, Indiana during July.

Zach Ross, another Almost, Maine cast member has been twice nominated for The Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival and has appeared in leading roles in HFC productions of The Diviners and Bug.

Rounding out the cast of Almost, Maine is Alan Rezzonica. He has appeared as Skut Farkas in A Christmas Story, Ferris Layman in The Diviners, and Jerry Goss in Bug.

HFC's version of 'Maine' will feature several technical innovations. The starlit sky will be created by hundreds of fiber optic cables, rather than projected. A fiber optic shooting star, created by sequencing hundreds of fiber optic stands will add to the magic. A state-of-the-art effects projector, designed specifically to create the Aurora Borealis will add to the stage magic. State of-the-art snow machines will enhance the show's winter landscape.

"Almost, Maine" will run for four performances on the following dates and times:
• Thursday, June 29, at 8 p.m.;
• Friday, June 30, at 8 p.m.;
• Saturday, July 1, at 8 p.m.; and
• Sunday, July 2, at 2 p.m.
