In tribute to the late American composer Steven Stucky, who passed away on Feb. 14, 2016, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra performs his Dreamwaltzes during the Joshua Bell program today, May 26 and tomorrow, May 27.

The originally scheduled unnamed World Premiere by Music Alive Composer in Residence Gabriela Lena Frank will appear January 9, 2017 on a program with Cho Liang Lin.

He once said of the piece: "The subject of Dreamwaltzes is dreaming about what it would be like to go back and write music like Brahms and Strauss, and facing the fact that while we can look back we can't go back."
