Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage is a delight for fans of the movie and for theatergoers who enjoy being entertained by a good show. Filled with first love, passion, lots of emotions, and all the songs of the classic film plus exquisite dancing - it is the type of the show that leaves the audience happy as they exit the theatre.

Interpreting a film for stage is not always easy, especially when it is beloved classic such as Dirty Dancing, but they pulled it off by taking all the iconic parts of the film and using them in production. It is not necessary to mention them all, but fans of the film will be happy to know that the "Loverboy" dance workout, "Lisa's Hula," and iconic "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" dance routine are all in the show to name a few.

The show follows the plot of the movie and it starts off as the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old Baby is on vacation in New York's Catskill Mountains with her family. Mesmerized by the racy dance moves and pounding rhythms she discovers in the resort's staff quarters, Baby can't wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle, the resort's sexy dance instructor. Passions ignite and Baby's life changes forever when she is thrown in to the deep end as Johnny's leading lady, both on-stage and off.

Dirty Dancing is incredible to watch because of the intricate stage design that goes along with the show. It feels so immersive and gives so much to the actual plot. It completely transports the audience to the Catskill Mountain's camp that Baby is at with her family. Through vivid projector screens and moving set pieces, it is constantly changing; it is quite the impressive set. The costumes are perfect as well; reminiscent of everything that the movie was, but a little bolder and brighter for the stage.

Last, but not least, is the spectacular dancing in the production. The dancers in Dirty Dancing are incredible. The dances moves and lifts that they perform are stunning. From the moment they start dancing to the very end of the show, it looks like they are having fun on stage, which makes the audience have a good time as well.

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage is currently playing through November 1st at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit. For more information or tickets, visit www.broadwayindetroit.com.
