To close its 32nd season the Undermain Theatre will present the World Premiere of Len Jenkin's Johan at 3200 Main Street in Deep Ellum. The premiere will open on Saturday, April 16 - curtain time 8:15 with the playwright in attendance. Preview performances will be on April 13th, 14th, and 15th. The production will run through May 7th.

JONAH is a world premiere developed at The Sundance Institute Theatre Program presented by Undermain Theatre.

Len Jenkin, hero of the avant-garde, returns to Undermain with a rumination on the story of the man of the sea, JONAH. Jonah's a man on the run. He hops a greyhound to Joppa and then grabs a cabin on a cruise ship bound for the land of Tarshish and points east in the Mediterranean. Jonah whiles away his time on-board the ship at the Grass Skirt Grill, while Sheila and the Lovetones sing their siren songs before the Pirate Queen and her crew commandeer the ship and he tumbles into the waves. This world premiere by longtime Undermain collaborator, Len Jenkin, was developed at The Sundance Institute Theatre Program in the summer of 2015. JONAH promises an adventure complete with a visit to Ninevah, a Dairy Queen, and, of course, the whale.
