Every once in a while a theatre production emerges that defies the standard board of fare to which we've grown accustomed. MBS Productions upcoming World Premiere of the latest original work by playwright Bretton B. Holmes titled Hotel California is one such example.

Hotel California centers on two Muslim extremists who awaken to find themselves in a hotel room across from Disneyland. With no knowledge of how they've come to be there, they decide the only conclusion making any sense is that they are there to kill 'The Rat' Mickey Mouse, since to them he represents the epitome of what is wrong with the West. The two extremists set about planning their attack and after visiting the Magic Kingdom to do reconnaissance, learn two things. First, that it really is 'The Happiest Place On Earth' and two, they're going to need a better plan...

This no-holds barred comedy skewers everything from American consumerism, fanaticism, and religious zealotry to pork rinds. Hotel California was first presented as part of MBS Production's '7 Plays In 7 Days' and was hands down the audience and critics favorite.

"We are thrilled to present this shocking, politically offensive and absolutely hilarious new work by Bretton B. Holmes" says Artistic Director Mark-Brian Sonna. "We've presented a great deal of Mr. Holmes' work over the last seven years and audiences can't get enough of his writing."

"Sometimes you grind out something that is so shockingly poignant that the vast majority of artistic directors are afraid to stage the work" explains Playwright Bretton B. Holmes. "While the play directly confronts the scourge of Muslim extremism on the heels of tragic events in Paris and elsewhere, it serves as a theatrical gun aimed directly at any religious extremists who would see our way of life threatened or destroyed."

The play is directed by Mark-Brian Sonna and stars Gerald Taylor II, A. Solomon Abah Jr., John A. Parker, Barbara McIntyre, Summer Martinez.

HOTEL CALIFORNIA will be presented March 26 - April 19 by MBS Productions at the Stone Cottage Theatre, 15650 Addisosn Road, Addison, TX 75001. Tickets can be purchased at www.mbsproductions.net or by calling 214-477-4942. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8 PM. With additional shows on Wednesday, April 8 at 8 PM and a Sunday Matinee, April 19 at 2 PM. Tickets range from $20 to $23.

MBS Productions was founded in 2004 by Mark-Brian Sonna. The only Theatrical Production Company in North Texas that specializes in exclusively producing works previously unseen for the stage, the company has received countless critical raves for every show it has produced. Many of the productions have been named by critics and newspapers in their top lists of plays of the year including #1 slot for plays such a Dante: Inferno, Dream Cafe, The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker! The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker! won the NationAl Goldstar Nutcracker Award (aka "the Nutty") in 2014 for being the most beloved Nutcracker in the USA, beating out other companies such as The San Francisco Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, The Joffrey.
