2014 Northwest Idol Announces Semi Finals to Begin 6/28

The Torrington Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the Warner Theatre is proud to announce that it will be hosting its Ninth Annual Northwest Idol Contest. There will be only one category for ages 15 and up. There will 16 contestants competing for the title. Several of the contestants have returned to perform from past years, so this should prove to be quite the competition this year.

The Semi-Finals will take place rain or shine beginning on Saturday, June 28th and again on Saturday, July 19th at the Coe Memorial Park beginning at 7:00 PM. Contestants will perform karaoke style with the assistance of Vin Avallone. Each contestant will be judged on presentation, appearance, professionalism, presentation as well as their overall performance. The talent pool will be narrowed down at the end of the two semifinal rounds. The host at both events is Casey McKenna. The judging will be handled by local personalities involved in the music profession.

The contestants who have made it past the auditions and will be competing in the first semifinal on June 28th are as follows: Jenn Archer, Fred Boland,Lindsay Booth, Michelle Cahill,Heather Crowell, Ashley Currier,Breonna Curry, Bobbi Jo Klug,Sara Larkin, Jasmon LaTour,Justin Normandin, Heather Papolia, Patricia Pepen, Jeanine Pray,Natasha Tewksbury, Lea Vedovelli

The final show will be held at the Warner Theatre on Saturday, August 23rd, beginning at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be available at the Warner Theatre Box Office. At the finals all the contestants will perform with a live band and must be available to practice with the band before the event. The band to accompany the contestants this year is the Opening Night Band. Cash Prizes and Gift Certificates will be awarded to the Top Three Contestants.
