Called "a cabaret icon" by NBC Chicago, After Dark Award-winning vocalist Joan Curto returns by popular demand to Chicago with her show celebrating the songs of Cole Porter. This show debuted in Chicago to sold-out audiences in February and garnered rave reviews. The show is appropriately titled Joan Curto Sings Cole Porter: From Major to Minor. Praised by the Chicago Tribune's noted jazz critic Howard Reich as "a seasoned interpreter who makes the most of every note,." Joan will offer Chicago audiences a glimpse into the extensive catalogue of Porter, a supreme master of sophisticated popular song.

Known for her thoughtful interpretations and powerful vocals, Joan will feature classic Porter tunes Night and Day, Just One of Those Things and My Heart Belongs to Daddy, as well as more obscure songs from one of the Great American Songbook's most prolific songwriters. Creating some of the cleverest, funniest, and most romantic songs ever written, Porter was unmatched as a tune-smith, and his Broadway musicals from Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, Silk Stockings andCan-Can, set the standards of style and wit to which today's composers and lyricists aspire.

This performance will also celebrates the release of her first studio recording in nine years, Joan Curto Sings Cole Porter: From Major to Minor. The CD features studio performances of Porter classics she will be performing in the show including I Love Paris, I've Got You Under My Skin, My Heart Belongs To Daddy and In the Still of the Night. This marks Joan's return to the recording studio since her 2004 acclaimed debut recording , May I Suggest? which garnered national radio airplay and critical acclaim. Another Chicago favorite, Beckie Menzie provides musical direction and will be joined by Jim Cox on bass. This must-see return event takes place for 4 performances only at Davenport's. Winning the After Dark Award for Outstanding Cabaret Vocalist, Joan Curto is recognized as one of the nation's premier interpreters of the great American songbook. She has performed at many of the country's most prestigious music venues including: New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Room, The Gardenia in Los Angeles, The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center in Milwaukee, The Colony Room in Palm Beach.
