I AND YOU | By Lauren Gunderson | Directed by Rasheeda Moore | One afternoon, Anthony arrives unexpectedly at classmate Caroline's door bearing a beat-up copy of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, an urgent assignment from their English teacher. Homebound by illness, Caroline hasn't been to school in months, but she is as quick and sardonic as Anthony is athletic, sensitive, and popular. So begins a remarkable comedy-drama of two very opposite teenagers who shouldnt have met and wouldnt have if Anthony had not chosen the reclusive, mysterious Caroline for his partner. Lauren Gundersons I and You is an ode to youth, life, love, and the strange beauty of human connectedness.

Review: The Broadway Stage Play THE MOUNTAINTOP Debuts at Theatre Charlotte

The Mountaintop is an interesting spin from the mind of Katori Hall of a fictitious conversation between Dr. King and a maid named Camae in the Lorraine Motel the day before his assassination. I find her creativity and imagination very vivid and enlightening indeed especially since it did have some hidden truths.
