Some say the Fulton Theatre is the most haunted site in Lancaster County. This fall a new ghost will take up residence. Fulton Theatre opens its 2013-2014 season with one of the greatest ghost stories ever told, The Woman in Black on stage October 15 - November 3.

Directed by Fulton Artistic Director, Marc Robin, the heart-racing story of The Woman in Black invites audience members to witness an unnerving experience only possible with Live Theatre.

"Audiences love a good ghost story, especially as the temperature outside turns colder and the days grow shorter," says Robin. "This play, set in a small Victorian theatre, is bar-none the scariest piece of theatre I have ever encountered. The Fulton, Lancaster's own Victorian theatre, with its amazing haunted history, is the perfect place to produce this play. If you like being scared, The Woman in Black is for you!"

The Woman in Black unfolds as Arthur Kipps, played by Jerry Richardson (The Unexpected Guest, The Mousetrap,Lightning Rod), works with an unnamed actor, played by Warren Kelley (The Foreigner), as he develops a manuscript for a play based on his terrifying encounters with an eerie specter. As a young lawyer, Kipps is summoned to oversee the sale of the remotely located Eel Marsh House. Unaware of the tragic secrets which lie hidden behind the shuttered windows, Kipps becomes entwined in this mysterious saga of the woman in black-and her frightful purpose.

The design team for The Woman in Black features Scenic Designer William Mohney, Costume Designer Beth Dunkelberger, Lighting Designer Bill Simmons, Props Designer Katelin Walso, and Sound Designer Jacob Mishler. The Stage Manager is Timothy Markus, and the understudy for both roles is local actor BrIan Martin(Witness for the Prosecution, The Mousetrap, West Side Story).

Hailed by the Daily Telegraph as "one of the most brilliantly effective spine-chillers you will ever encounter," The Woman in Black is adapted by Stephen Mallatratt, from the horror novella by Susan Hill. The Woman in Black is the second longest-running non-musical play in London's esteemed West End Theatre.

The Woman in Black is Co-Sponsored by Elizabethtown College, High Companies, and Rodgers and Associates. The Fulton's 2013/2014 Season is Co-Sponsored by Fulton Bank.
