The Rhinebeck Readers Theatre presents a staged reading of Eric Coble's recent Broadway hit THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN on Saturday March 12 at the Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill.

Marlene Golia and Thomas Day star in this dark comedy about Alexandra, an elderly artist who is resisting her children's attempts to move her out of her home. Chris, her younger son who she has not seen for 20 years, comes back to deal with the situation and in the process discovers the truth of who he is.

The reading, directed by Richard Rizzo, will be presented on Saturday, March 19th at 7:30 pm in the Speakeasy at the Bridge Street Theatre, 44 West Bridge Street, Catskill, NY.

Tickets are $10 and go on sale at the door one half hour prior to the performance. For more information, visit the theater's website at BridgeSt.org.

Marlene Golia (Alexandra) is grateful to Thomas for introducing her to Alexandra a couple of years ago and to Richard for providing the opportunity to bring Alexandra's words to life. Her most recent onstage appearance was in "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and a Prayer" as part of a V-Day event at the Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck.

Thomas Day (Chris) has been performing since age 7 when he played the young Robert E. Lee. Favorite roles include: Randle McMurphy, Billy Bigelow, Teach, Dracula and Vanya. Thomas enjoys coaching, directing and doing home visits for the fur baby puppy rescue organization. He is an NYC MAC Award winner for his wildly comic 90 minute show "By Request". I dedicate this reading to all my mentors, living and those lost to AIDS, on whose shoulders I stand.

Richard Rizzo is the Producer/Director of the Rhinebeck Readers Theatre and has been an actor and commercial print model in New York City for over 30 years. He has appeared in commercials, print ads, soap operas and films. He is especially proud to be presenting this reading at the Bridge Street Theatre. Richard is a graduate of the advanced Commercial Theatre Institute's 14 week program and is currently a member of The Theatre Resources Unlimited (TRU) Professional Development Mentoring Program. He and his wife have been investors in Broadway musicals and various touring companies of the same in England, Canada and Australia. Richard is a member of the Hudson Valley Playwrights and Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA.

This reading of "The Velocity of Autumn" is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York
