The 2017 Tony Awards are Sunday, June 11th, and Lips, New York's ultimate drag show palace and restaurant, is celebrating the Great White Way as only it can, combining Broadway's best tunes with unique drag spice!

Beginning Wednesday, June 7th and running every Wednesday in June thereafter, Lips will present "Twisted Broadway," starring Ginger Snap and her fabulous choral ensemble, performing numbers from classic Broadway shows including Evita, Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, Mary Poppins, and Annie.

"But this is no show for the kiddies," warns Snap. "We showgirls are kicking up our heels and serving fierce Broadway like you ain't never seen before!"

"The Tonys are always a special time of year at Lips," says Yvonne Lame', co-founder of NYC's only true LaCage Drag Show. "We know what's it like to put on a nightly show. The lights, the intricate staging, the make-up. Our performers probably use more make-up than all the other Broadway and off-Broadway shows combined!"

From one small restaurant in the West Village, Lips has grown into a beloved nationwide chain with five locations in Atlanta, New York, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego and Chicago.

It all started when Yvonne Lame' was inspired to create a Vegas-style dinner theatre that looked like the inside of a drag queen's jewelry box. With the help of investors Michael Pacca, Paul Galluccio and Robert DeBenedictis, and shoe designer Brenda Starr, Lame' designed the original eatery with bejeweled mirrors, crystal chandeliers, luxurious fabrics, a glittery stage and VIP cabanas. It quickly became a place for wild and crazy people to celebrate anything: birthdays, bachelorette parties, divorces, graduations, promotions, holidays and more.

The emphasis is always on fun. The performers are incredibly talented yet down to earth queens who have a desire to please their customers. Many have gone on to become international superstars, including Violet Chachki, season seven winner of RuPaul's Drag Race.

"We've won countless stage awards," reflects Lame'. "In fact, about the only award we've yet to win is a Tony. Perhaps that will soon change with Twisted Broadway!"
