Karen Gross-Philadelphia's celebrated cabaret singer, songwriter, and comedienne who recently put down roots in New York City-will debut her all-new show "Cabaret Mixtape" at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the premier cabaret venue The Metropolitan Room, 34 W. 22nd Street (between 5th and 6th Aves.), New York City, NY. Tickets are $20, plus a two-drink minimum, and advance reservations are requested by calling 212-206-0440 or ordering at www.metropolitanroom.com.

Before the age of iTunes, cassette mixtapes served as the soundtracks of our lives: diaries of love, friendship, heartbreak, adventure and musical discovery. Created with care, and shared with our friends, boyfriends and girlfriends, mixtapes were filled with songs that made us laugh, cry, dance and sing along. From Broadway to Britney, singer-songwriters to the American songbook, '80s lite rock to Lilith Fair, Karen Gross revisits and reimagines the songs, the stories, the memories: the mixtape.

"Cabaret Mixtape" is directed by Lina Koutrakos, with musical direction by Rick Jensen, who between them have earned multiple Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) Awards among other accolades.
