Winner of the New York International Fringe Festival's "Overall Excellence Award for a Solo Show," Faye Lane's Beauty Shop Stories returns to the Huron Club at The SoHo Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street, NYC. Performances will end January 9th. Directed by MAC Award winner, Jay Rogers, Faye Lane's Beauty Shop Stories features with music written by Keith Thompson, Larry Rosen and Carol Hall (music and lyrics for "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas").

The glittered-up memories of a Green Bean Queen, Faye Lane's Beauty Shop Stories is a funny, inspiring and upbeat chronicle of Faye's childhood in her mama's beauty shop in Texas told through poignant story and stirring song. As a fat little girl sitting on the front porch in a glittered-up Burger King crown with a MoonPie in her hand, she dreamed of telling stories and singing songs on the stage in New York City. Now it's just Faye, a microphone and a piano. Have all her glamorous fantasies come true?

Faye Lane is one of New York's most beloved and respected storytellers. New York Magazine said Faye had her audience "howling, crying, falling in love with her." Stories and songs from Beauty Shop Stories have been presented at Caroline's on Broadway, Comix, The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, The Pulse Theater, Stage Left, Cornelia Street Cafe, The Time Out New York Lounge, 92nd Street Y Tribeca, and Joe's Pub at The Public Theater as well as at The Improv in Washington DC, The Jewel Box Theater in Seattle, L'Etage in Philadelphia, the Victoria Event Center in Victoria BC, and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she received a glowing four-star review from The Scotsman! A winner of the Moth Story Slam in both New York and LA, she can be heard on NPR's Cityscapes and The Moth Radio Hour.

Director Jay Rogers is a four-time MAC Award winner and Drama Desk Award nominee for Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly.
