Billy Hough's SCREAM ALONG WITH BILLY: RADICAL DAYS Debuts April 16th at Joe's Pub

Notorious punk rock/cabaret performer Billy Hough will debut his latest "Scream Along With Billy" presentation at Joe's Pub at 425 Lafayette Street in Manhattan on Sunday, April 16th at 9:30pm. The new show, "Scream Along With Billy: Radical Days" will feature Billy Hough and Susan Goldberg returning to Joe's Pub with a "guide to surviving" these impossible times.

Along with special guests Lili Taylor, Jeremy Gustin (David Byrne band), and Matt Hough (GarageDogs), the evening will be the first show of its kind, also being filmed by acclaimed filmmaker Oren Moverman and recorded for a future album release. This unique new show follows Hough's successful Halloween 2016 appearance at Joe's Pub, as he poses the questions "Do you wanna be in a movie? Wanna be on a record? Then come be a part of rock-n-roll history, and pick up some tips on how to weather the shit storm."

Throughout the show, the band will be recording a brand new album, being called "INDIA: The Only Way Out is Through"). Billy Hough's nine new songs run the gamut from 60's pop to classic country to noise symphony, and offer historical solutions to life during wartime. This one-time only show, built solely around Billy's original songs including hits from GarageDogs, the films of Oren Moverman, and his and Sue Goldberg's classic album "Venice" will be turned into a concert film by Moverman.

"Scream Along With Billy" has developed into a cult sensation over the last ten years, with live shows in New York City and Provincetown, MA, building up a fiercely devoted fan base and following. Filmmaker John Waters called it "The bravest thing I've seen in 20 years." While acclaimed write Hilton Als at The New Yorker proclaimed...."Keeps the audience mesmerized. Absurdist theatre can happen anywhere, especially if it's kept alive by artists like Hough" and Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Cunningham raved that "Billy Hough is touched by genius, a word I don't use often or lightly."

Hough's highly-acclaimed, always conceptual live shows, recordings and videos have included "Scream Along With Billy" performances in homage to many iconic recording artists including David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Nico and others. Hough and Susan Goldberg, along with their brilliant on-stage guests (Michael Cunningham, Gordon Gano, Lili Taylor, Justin VivIan Bond, etc) have also explored the work of Andy Warhol, John Waters, David Lynch, and Robert Altman in conceptual musicals. Accompanied by the historically accurate Sue Goldberg (Space Pussy) on bass and eye-rolls, the duo have earned a provocative reputation for themselves by finding the midpoint between piano bar and horror movie.

But they saved the best story for last: their own. Billy's journey from Mississippi to Los Angeles, Eagle Scout to hustler, junkie to movie star, is nothing compared with the adventures he's had with his soul-mate Sue. All the gory details will be laid bare and filmed live on stage in this one-time-only event, "Scream Along With Billy: Radical Days".

Hough's friend and sometime collaborator, actress Lili Taylor, has been appearing as special guest in his "Scream Along With Billy" live shows for years, and will again join him on stage.

Billy Hough is known to many as founding member of legendary 1990's punk band GarageDogs, but his recent career highlights include his single "Radical Days" on Garage Dog Records, which was written and performed by Hough in the 2014 feature film "Time Out Of Mind", written and directed by Oren Moverman and starring Richard Gere. He also appeared in Oren Moverman's 2012 film Rampart, and wrote/performed three songs on the soundtrack.

He released his Billy Hough & the X-Loves' "Venice" solo album, which continues to generate hugely popular short-film like videos. His latest single and video, released in the fall 2016, is "It's All My Fault", Hough's musical rant about betrayal, size queens, and general debauchery: This past year, the unstoppable Billy Hough also wrote the track "Rocket Science" for Oren Moverman's upcoming film "The Dinner" and produced the audio book for author friend Michael Cunningham's "A Wild Swan: and Other Tales", winning a "Best of the Year" award from the American Library Association: Hough and Lili Taylor narrated the audio book together, of which was said....
