Patty Jenkins Shares First Look Of Kristen Wiig As Barbara Minerva In WONDER WOMEN 1984

Acclaimed director Patty Jenkins took to Twitter today to share the first look of Kristen Wiig in the forthcoming WONDER WOMEN 1984. Jenkins has confirmed in March that Kristen Wiig will play villainess "Cheetah" in the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel. The film is set to hit theaters November 2019.

Wiig starred for seven seasons on NBC's SNL, where she was a regular from 2005-12. She earned three supporting actress in a comedy Emmy nominations. In recent years she has appeared on the big screen in BRIDESMAIDS, for which she earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing the original screenplay, DOWNSIZING and MOTHER!

Patty Jenkins is a writer/director best known for directing Warner Bros. and DC Comics Wonder Woman, her debut feature Monster, based on the life of convicted serial killer Aileen Wuornos, and helming the pilot episode of AMC's hit show The Killing. Patty began her career as a painter at The Cooper Union in New York City. Upon transitioning to filmmaking, she spent eight years as a First Assistant Camera Person/Focus Puller. After attending the AFI in Los Angeles, she wrote and directed Monster.

Wonder Woman is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins, with a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, from a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs, and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya. Wonder Woman is the second live action theatrical film featuring the titular character, following her debut in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In Wonder Woman, THE STORY OF DIANA is told, who is the daughter of Hippolyta and grows up on the Amazon island of Themyscira. After American pilot and spy Steve Trevor crashes offshore of the island and is rescued by her, he tells the Amazons about the ongoing World War. Diana, thinking the war is caused by an old enemy of the Amazons, then leaves her home in order to end the conflict.
