Another stage vet is heading to the DC Universe on The CW.

Following Andy Mientus' guest starring role on the network's new series THE FLASH, it was announced today that former PIPPIN and BIG FISH star Ciara Renee has been tapped to play 'Hawkgirl' in the upcoming ARROW/FLASH spinoff, according to Deadline.

Hawkgirl, otherwise known as Kendra Saunders, is described as "a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker...Hawkgirl."

Renee will join Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Caity Lotz in the project.

Like THE FLASH and ARROW, the planned midseason spinoff is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti("Green Lantern," "Brothers & Sisters"), and Marc Guggenheim ("FlashForward," "Eli Stone").

Renée made her Broadway debut this season in Big Fish playing the role of The Witch. She is a recent graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and is currently appearing in the world premiere of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Paper Mill Playhouse. Her workshop credits include Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton, Three Little Pigs and Bull Durham.
