Opera Ithaca New Year's Eve Gala to feature Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio

Opera Ithaca presents their second annual New Year's Eve Gala at the Kitchen Theatre to feature an impressive and accomplished cast in Mozart's virtuosic comedy, Abduction from the Seraglio.

Abduction stars celebrated American tenor, Jonathan Blalock (Washington National Opera, Dallas Opera) known for his "extraordinary vocal elegance" (San Francisco Chronicle) and "honey-sweet timbre" (Opera News) as Belmonte, Elena Galván (Florida Grand Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera) as Constanze, Daniel Bates (Santa Fe Opera, Florida Grand Opera) as Pedrillo, Godfrey Simmons (Civic Ensemble) as Pasha Selim, Opera Ithaca's own Lynn Craver as Blonde and Zachary James (LA Opera, English National Opera) as Osmin.

Opera Ithaca's New Year's Eve Gala production of Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio will play the Kitchen Theatre on December 31st only. Doors open for drinks and hors d'oeuvres at 8:30. The opera starts promptly at 9pm. Intermission will feature food by Dano's Heuriger On Seneca and following the show patrons are invited to mingle with the cast, enJoy Sweets and join in a midnight countdown with a champagne toast.

Opera Ithaca was founded in 2014 by Zachary James and Lynn Craver. Opera Ithaca has presented Bluebeard's Castle, the professional premiere of Il Sogno, the world premiere of Billy Blythe, Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, Masquerade, Thumbprint and dozens of concerts, community outreach and educational events. Later this season Opera Ithaca will present Rossini's Cinderella.
