Kellerman and his world-class ensemble of musicians will explode in a dynamic fusion of global sounds – be sure not to miss one of the most exhilarating live music experiences of the year!
Prior to his successful solo career, Diego Garcia made his mark on the indie music scene as front man for the popular indie act Elefant. Drawing from his Argentine roots, he explores his Latin heritage on his new solo album 'Laura' with a sound that conjures the spirit of 1970’s troubadours like Sandro and Jobim as well as singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Harry Nilsson. Garcia became a breakout star with the release of his debut solo album ‘Laura.’ NPR named Diego Garcia’s debut “one of the top 25 albums of the year (so far).” He was ‘Artist of the Month’ at tastemaker radio station WXPN-FM in Philadelphia and ‘CD of the Month’ at WFUV in New York City. He has performed live shows for key radio shows across the country, including KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and WXPN’s World Café. Garcia’s poignant first single “You Were Never There,” which was co-written by Dhani Harrison (George Harrison’s son) is a perfect example. With lush string arrangements, delicate Spanish guitars, and distinctly Latin flavor, the song is worlds apart from Garcia’s former band Elefant. “You Were Never There” was a Starbucks ‘Pick of the Week’ (750,000 download cards), marking one of the only times that Starbucks has ever selected a Latino artist for this special opportunity.
Cathy Grier NYCSubwayGirl

Cathy Grier aka NYCSubwayGirl is a singer songwriter guitarist, performing with the Music Under New York program since 1999. NYCSubwayGirl.com features “The Inspiration Project,” where she spontaneously interviews people about what inspires them. Above ground, Cathy’s career has spanned the globe. Local singer-songwriter and activist Cathy Grier plays a mean slide guitar and sings twice as beguilingly as pretty much any American Idol starlet half her age.

McGinty & White Sing Jimmy Webb
August 9, 7pm
Inspired by one of the great catalogs in contemporary music, McGinty & White Sing Webb celebrates the peerless artistry of a true pop visionary. Over the course of his extraordinary career, and through his close associations with Glen Campbell, Richard Harris, and The 5th Dimension, songwriter Jimmy Webb created a string of enduring classics (including MacArthur Park, Wichita Lineman, and By The Time I get To Phoenix) unrivaled in their scope and evocative imagery. With their mutual affinity for the lush, orchestral balladry of Jimmy Webb and Burt Bacharach, New York City based chamber pop duo McGinty & White received widespread critical praise for their debut album, McGinty & White Sing Selections From The McGinty & White Songbook, including accolades from The New Yorker and New York Press, who named it one of the five best albums of 2009. M&W have performed live on WFUV, WFMU and WXPN/WorldCafe Live, toured with original Stiff recording artist Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby, and appeared as musical guests for Upright Citizens Brigade. Joe McGinty is a keyboardist, composer and producer, best known for his work with The Psychedelic Furs and as founder and musical director of the long running Loser's Lounge tribute series. He has recorded and/or performed with The Ramones, Debbie Harry, Stew and The Negro Problem, Ronnie Spector, Ryan Adams, and many others. Ward White is a Brooklyn based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The New Yorker said, "Ward White sports a sweet, high tenor whose hints of fragility are just a ploy: when he goes after the dramatic top notes, he nails them... soaring, lyrical pop." His latest album, Done With The Talking Cure, was named as one of the best records of 2011 in MAGNET Magazine's Year In Music issue.
The Alternate Routes
August 9, 9:30pm
The Alternate Routes’ name suits them well. They’re a band that‘s never really fit in — in a good way. Without a definitive genre to reference or an established scene to rally behind them, they’ve been something of a rogue wave in an ocean of bands. They built a fan base the old fashioned way, by driving around the country in a big, white Ford Econoline van, winning crowds over one-person-at-a-time with solid, catchy songs and an explosive live show. Since their genesis in 2004, co-founders Tim Warren (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Eric Donnelly (lead guitar) have taken their group through the dizzying heights and frustrating lows of the modern music industry, and have learned some valuable lessons along the way.
Kate McGarry Band with Keith Ganz, Gary Versace & Clarence Penn
August 10, 8pm
$15 Advance / $20 Door
More concerned with the essence of a song than idiomatic limitations, Palmetto Records’ vocalist and Grammy nominee Kate McGarry & her band have managed to attract the attention of tomorrow’s jazz fans. Beyond their obvious affinity for swing, their eclectic repertoire ranging from Irving Berlin to Bob Dylan and her signature contralto convey a message with a crystal clarity that precludes the need for gimmick or effect. All that’s left is undeniably honest music that transcends the boundaries of age or genre. If you missed their sold-out CD release in April - here's your chance to see this wildly empathic and interactive band.
