Next Wednesday (10/11), French electro duo-SCRATCH MASSIVE-will release the first single, "SUNKEN," from their 2018 album, Sunken City (Out March 23, 2018 via bORDEL). With "SUNKEN", SCRATCH MASSIVE throws us directly in the center of their new album made during LA's summer heatwave. "SUNKEN," a romantic & venomous song of modern times where the crystal and hypnotic voice of Maud Geffray (half part of the dynamic duo) answers to singer Leonie Pernet who seems to be under Marylyn Manson or Lana Del Rey's influence.

The single's influence is littered with Southern California's vibrancy. The LP was recorded during the past summer in LA, in their Atwater Village studio, where they also established their new label--bORDEL.

Further, "SUNKEN" is derived from 'Sunken City' in San Pedro, CA--where there was the resort devastation in 1929. Early in the 20th century, a natural landslide caused several beachside homes in the Pt. Fermin area of San Pedro, CA, to slide into the ocean. The site was dubbed 'Sunken City.' Nowadays the site has become a place for street art, video creations, etc.-and is naturally where the "SUNKEN" music video was shot.

The dark and glittering song is accompanied by a music video directed by the other half side of the duo Sebastien Chenut, starring Roxanne Mesquida (Quentin Dupieux, Gregg Araki..) & Japanese, actor & DJ Eiko Hara. Stay tuned.
