Neil Diamond turned to his official Twitter page today to announce a surprise concert event, taking place tonight at Brooklyn's Erasmus Hall, to promote his upcoming album 'Melody Road', set for release on October 21st. Check out the announcement at left!

Last week, Diamond released the official music video for Neil Diamond's brand-new song, "Something Blue," the lead single from Melody Road. (check it out below!) The record marks his first original studio release in six years and first since signing with Capitol Records. Acclaimed producers Don Was and Jacknife Lee co-produced the album.

Neil Diamond has sold over 125 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. Amongst his many successful concert tours was a run at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in 1972.

The artist was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. Additionally, he received theSammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and in 2011 was an honoree atKennedy Center.
