Kurtis Simmons Releases Holiday EP 'This Year For Christmas'

Recording artist Kurtis Simmons has released his first holiday recording entitled "This Year for Christmas." Along with Simmons, the EP features the writing and performance talents of multi-platinum and award-winning Stefan Lit and acclaimed jazz artist and actor Scott Dreier.

"This Year for Christmas" features two brand new songs composed by Simmons and Lit along with a Joni Mitchell classic. "Just Us" is a song about the holiday journey Simmons has taken with his life partner Scott Dreier since their first Christmas together. Said Simmons, "Over the years, our Christmases have gotten bigger and bigger but a lot of the time we both long for that simpler, first Christmas when it was 'Just Us.'" Reflecting on the division and discord in our country, Simmons and Lit wrote "This Year for Christmas," expressing their wishes for peace, joy, and love. To fulfill his longtime desire to record with partner Dreier, Simmons chose the Joni Mitchell tune "River." Simmons remarked, "Bringing two completely new and different holiday tunes into the world ... I've already had my Christmas morning."

As a recording artist, Kurtis Simmons has worked with Grammy Award-winner Melissa Manchester, Lawrence Welk star Ralna English, and Swedish metal band Ghost, among others. Along with producing his own debut CD "Fraction of a Thread," Simmons co-produced The Doris Day Project, a jazz CD for Scott Dreier. He served as co-producer on the stage production Doris and Me and is currently co-producing his new musical Hipster Sweatshop. He is also an actor, director, and music director.
Stefan Lit is an LA-based drummer, producer, and songwriter. Winner of a Hollywood Music in Media Award, he has made a name for himself in the studio and on the road working with the likes of Andy Grammar, One Direction, Boyz II Men, and Billy Ray Cyrus, to name only a few. His music has been featured in numerous films and television shows, and he has appeared on stages all over the world. Scott Dreier is an Eddon Best of LA Theatre Award-winner (2013 & 2014) and an Ovation Award nominee who has performed all over the country. He has worked on stage, in films, and on television. He is currently touring his solo show Doris and Me, celebrating the career of film legend Doris Day.
