Toolshed has announced its newest social media development client Milán - the new project from Brooklyn-based indie singer/songwriter Maria Neckam. Her debut self-titled EP is slated for release today, November 11. Check out her Toolshed media page for more information.

Milán has worked with a wide variety of artists, including: Erykah Badu, the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, David Bronson, hip-hop producer Mesta Bish and composer Ted Hearne. The new EP was produced by Jim Orso (Hot Chip, Holy Ghost!) and Michael Perez-Cisneros. More information about the release is forthcoming.

Milán recently debuted the lead two singles from the upcoming EP on Wondering Sound and Culture Collide.

"I wrote this song when I had experienced a big shift in my life. I realized that I had to let go of who I used to be in order to move forward. It's a very intuitive song -- I was playing on my synth and the words just started coming out. It's also about going back to the source of your creativity, to that private, most honest place, where you are able to express freely who you really are. It's where the magic happens."

Spencer Scanlon at Crash Avenue is handling traditional publicity for the campaign. Toolshed is interfacing with Crash Avenue and Neckam to introduce the singer as she expands her palette to include electronic-leaning, contemplative dance music.
