The Folk Music Society of New York have announced that singer-songwriter Bob Franke will be performing a concert at 8pm on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the OSA Hall, 220 E. 23rd St, Suite 707 (between 2nd & 3rd Avenues), New York, 10010. He will also run a songwriting workshop over the weekend March 24-25.

Bob Franke was nominated as an Outstanding Folk Act by the Boston Music Awards. In addition to his own recordings, his songs have been covered by numerous other artists including Peter, Paul & Mary, June Tabor, and John McCutcheon.

Tom Paxton on Bob Franke: "In our terms, it's a hit song when it really enters the tradition; when you hear that it's being passed along from singer to singer, that people who may have no idea who you are have taken it into their lives. They can identify with the feelings in the song, the words and melody fit, and it tastes good to sing it. Bob writes like that, like an ordinary thoughtful man who has turned to song to express himself."
