Carolina Blue Joins Roe Entertainment

Jim Roe of Roe Entertainment is happy to announce exclusive representation of the pride of Brevard, North Carolina, Carolina Blue.

"Carolina Blue's energy and stage presence has made them a fan and promoter favorite quickly over the last couple of years," say Jim Roe. "Every talent buyer that I have spoken with absolutely loves this band and their Monroe-style bluegrass. These are some great people to be working with and five very talented pickers. I feel very fortunate to be adding them to our roster at Roe Entertainment and I'm very excited about the future."

The band's manager, Lakin Jones says "Carolina Blue has all the qualities that embody traditional bluegrass. From their Monroe sound and their vintage attire, to the ability to write new songs that sound like they've been around for decades, I have believed in Carolina Blue since the very beginning. Maybe I'm a little partial to the cute, tenor-singing, mandolin player (husband), but I've never met two guys who have such tight, brother-like harmonies, as do co-founders Bobby Powell (guitarist) and Timmy Jones(mandolin). The band has created a partnership, friendship, and family with the other band members; Reese Combs (bass), James McDowell (banjo), and Aynsley Porchak (fiddle). I've never been more excited about the direction that Carolina Blue is headed. We have a stacked 2019 tour schedule and partnering with Roe Entertainment has played a vital role in that. Jim has already introduced us to venues and events that we otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to connect. Jim is a great guy and very easy to work with, and already working hard in our short time together."

Carolina Blue is celebrating the upcoming February release of their debut album for Pinecastle Records, I Hear Bluegrass Calling Me. The album's first single, "Rusty Rails," has been receiving heavy airplay and the band also released a music video to amp up the excitement.

About Carolina Blue
Carolina Blue is a Brevard, NC based band whose roots run deep in the tradition of Bill Monroe. The band was formed in 2007 after the release of the album Nothing So Blue by Bobby Powell and Tim Jones. Carolina Blue won the South Carolina state bluegrass championship at RenoFest in 2011. They also received their first Vocal Group of The Year Nomination at the 2018 SPBGMA Awards Show. They have appeared on the hit TV show "Song Of The Mountains" as well as "The Bluegrass Trail" series on RFDTV. The band's repertoire consists of original songs (including Tim Jones' "Spring Will Bring Flowers," which was recorded by 2014 IBMA entertainers of the year Balsam Range), many bluegrass favorites, and gospel, too, all done in the traditional style. Band members are Bobby Powell on guitar and vocals, Timmy Jones on mandolin and vocals, Reese Combs on upright bass and vocals, James McDowell on banjo and vocals, as well as American and Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champion, Aynsley Porchak on fiddle, a recipient of the 2018 International Bluegrass Music Association's Momentum Instrumentalist Award.
