Steve Carell to Star in, Produce Film Adaptation of THE PRIORITY LIST

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Steve Carell will star in the upcoming film adaptation of David Menasche's memoir THE PRIORITY LIST. Warner Bros. has just picked up the rights to the film; Carell will also produce alongside Carousel Productions.

Menasche's memoir (full title The Priority List: A Teacher's Final Quest to Discover Life's Greatest Lessons) follows Menasche as he is told in 2006 that he only has a few months left to live after being diagnosed with brain cancer. A Miami high school teacher, he endures several surgeries and years of chemo and continues teaching until suffering a seizure in 2012. He then sets out on a cross-country trip to reconnect with his former students. The book came out in January 2014.

Carell will next appear in Foxcatcher, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and The Minions.

His recent big screen credits include Anchorman 2, Despicable Me 2, NBC's The Office, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, The Way Way Back, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, Crazy, Stupid, Love. and more.
