Woody Creek Distillers (WCD) Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey has been awarded the double gold medal at the prestigious 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Woody Creek Distillers is the first distillery to receive back-to-back double gold awards for a rye whiskey and a vodka. The Colorado-based distillery won double gold at the San Francisco competition for their Woody Creek 100% Potato Vodka in 2015.

WCD initially released their Woody Creek Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey (MSRP $49.99) in June 2014. Handmade from 100% Colorado rye, this 90-proof rye mash whiskey is both complex and extraordinarily smooth. Aged at least two years in new American white oak barrels, Woody Creek Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey embodies distinct rye character with pronounced white pepper throughout the palate, notes of citrus peel on the nose, and an oaky vanilla mid-palate. This rare 100% Colorado rye whiskey is mashed, batch distilled, aged, and blended by Woody Creek Distillers at their distillery in Basalt, Colorado
"We are extraordinarily proud to have received double gold for our Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey," says Managing Partner Mark Kleckner, "Especially on the heals of winning double gold and Best in Class Vodka at 2015. The renaissance of American spirits is underway and we are happy to be a leader in the revival. "

Woody Creek Distillers launched their first spirit, Woody Creek 100% Potato Vodka in 2013. The spirits are currently distributed in 12 states, and will be available in 20 states by the end of 2016, including California and Florida.

Woody Creek Potato Vodka
Woody Creek Distillers' Woody Creek Colorado 100% Potato Vodka (MSRP: $29) is a smooth and robust potato-based vodka, made from just three ingredients: farm-fresh alpine potatoes (native Colorado Rio Grande), local mountain spring water, and yeast.
Grown at the Scanlan Family Farm in Woody Creek, CO and other locales near Aspen, potatoes are planted, hand-harvested, and then transported to the Woody Creek Distillery. There they are quickly processed, often on the same day, to create the distillery's ultra-premium American potato vodkas. In addition, these vodkas are distilled only once and require no filtration. As always, Woody Creek Distillers potato vodkas are gluten free.

Spirits are available throughout the U.S. and may be purchased online. For more information, visit http://www.woodycreekdistillers.com.
