Wines of Greece announces 11th annual Road Show event to be held on Tuesday, May 9, at City Winery in New York City. This event will highlight Greece's wine, gastronomy and culture with a focus on the nation's top wines and culinary delicacies to media, trade, and consumers. The Wines of Greece tasting aims to celebrate the rising growth of Greek wine consumption in the U.S. The second and third Roadshow events will take place in Chicago and Houston on May 11 and May 16 respectively.

During the New York event, members of the wine trade and press will be invited to the walk-around tasting with over 40 Greek wineries. In the evening, by popular demand, Wines of Greece will host the 3rd Annual Taste of Greece celebration. This ticketed event is open to the public and will feature winemakers showcasing their best wines, as well as some of NYC's finest Greek restaurants including Amali, Avra, The Greek Tribeca, Molyvos and Thalassa. Ticket holders to Taste of Greece will have the opportunity to attend this spectacular Greek affair and taste through the extensive offering of wine and small bites while they are getting a crash course education on the indigenous Greek grapes and more.

All proceeds of the Taste of Greece NYC will benefit Boroume, a non-profit organization committed to reducing food waste and the distribution of surplus food to the needy throughout Greece. These events are produced with the support of the European Union and Greece.

The two new Winemaker Roadshow events, heading to Chicago and Houston, will be exclusively for members of the media and trade. The Houston tasting will also host a workshop featuring Greece's major winemaking regions led by James Tidwell, MS and Evan Turner, Beverage Director of the Helen Restaurants.

"Today's Greek winemakers are crafting world class wines from indigenous and some international varieties with a true sense of place and excellent ratio of price to quality," explains Sofia Perpera, Director of the Greek Wine Bureau for North America. "With the increasing popularity of Greek wines in the U.S., we are excited to head back to New York and also explore other important U.S. wine markets, Chicago and Houston.
