"Shark Week" begins on Sunday, 7/23. For the first time, a select group of Marriott International hotels will have exclusive previews of Shark Week content and hotels based in select locations will also be serving up some fun Shark Week themed cocktails. We have the recipes for some of these inventive and exciting drinks.

New York City

Broadway Lounge at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square will celebrate Shark Week for guests and New Yorkers to enjoy. During the week of July 23, starting at noon each day, Broadway Lounge will dive into Shark Week on its multiple screens. The bartenders will serve specialty Shark Week cocktails such as a sharable Shark Bait! Drink, Tidal Wave, and The Shark Shake (non-alcoholic) along with fun food items such as The Grouper Burger.

Shark Bait - A Shareable Cocktail at New York Marriott Marquis

Ingredients:

-2oz Stoli Ohranj

-2oz Coconut Malibu Rum

-1/2oz Blue Curacao

-5oz White Cranberry Juice

-5oz 7UP Soda

Directions: Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake well. Fill a glass "fishbowl" (or other rounded glassware) with ice. Add Nerds Candy and a sprig of mint. Garnish with Swedish Fish and lime. Serve with two straws.

Tidal Wave at New York Marriott Marquis

Ingredients:

-2oz jalapeño and cherry wood-smoked infused tequila

-1 1/2 oz fire-roasted pineapple agave purée

-1 ½ oz fresh lime juice

Directions: Place a tall glass in the freeze to chill. Once chilled, remove the tall glass from freezer and rim it with a wedge of lime followed by Hawaiian pink sea salt. Place crushed ice in the frozen glass. Shake all ingredients well in a shaker and pour over crushed ice in the glass. Garnish with edible flower and pineapple leaf. (If not available, garnish with maraschino cherry.)

WASHINGTON D.C.

From July 16-30, jump in with the sharks at Washington Marriott Wardman Park which will have the shark floats in pool. On dry land, enjoy specials like the Shark Bait Beer Bucket, Reef Shark Cocktail, and Cilantro Mango Lime Mako. At Visteur Bar and Lounge at Washington Marriott Georgetown, the Shark Bite Cocktail will have a mock shark fin inside the ice and the "How to Attract Sharks" menu will have dishes such as Avocado Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche served in Scallop Shells.

Ingredients:

-1.5oz Mandarin vodka

-1.5oz Pineapple juice

-1/4 oz Blue curacao

-5 oz sour mix

-Maraschino Cherry

-Slice of orange

Directions: Shake the first four ingredients and garnish with a cherry and slice of orange.

SharkBite Cocktail at Washington Marriott Georgetown in Washington D.C.

Ingredients:

-1oz white rum

-1oz spiced rum

-1/2 Oz blue curacao

-12 Oz fresh lime juice

Directions: Add ingredients together and shake. Pour into a rocks glass and drizzle with grenadine for the perfect "shark bite" appearance.

NEWPORT, RI

Located in the heart of historic Newport, RI, the Skiff Bar at the Newport Marriott overlooks the Newport Marina and stunning coastal views. During the week of July 16, specials include Fish & Chip Bites and Blackened Fish Tacos. Bar goers can sip on a Blood in the Water cocktail or Landshark Lager while trying their hand at corn hole with a shark bean bag.

Ingredients:

-1 ½ oz. Absolut Citron

-½ oz. Triple Sec

-¼ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

-3 oz. Pomegranate Juice

Directions: Combine ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a gummy shark and lime wedge.
