National Pork Board Launches Daily Sweepstakes To Recognize America's Love Of Pork

Starting today through April 15, Americans have the chance to be rewarded for something they're doing now more than ever beforeeating pork. Whether trying one of the year's hottest flavor trends for tonight's dinner at home, enjoying a new dish at a favorite restaurant or serving up a spread for an upcoming game day or celebration, pork lovers who share a photo of the pork on their forkor spoon, kebab, grill, plate or bowl in social media will have the chance to win a $10 coupon good for a purchase of fresh pork, as well as other daily prizes totaling more than $10,000. 1

With a multitude of cuts and preparation methods, pork pairs well with a variety of cuisines and brings new and unique flavors to any occasion. Now is also the time to get great value with pork, the latest monthly average retail price per pound is $3.11. 2

Consumers can enter for a chance to win by sharing a photo of the pork dish they're cooking or enjoying on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #PorkNowSweeps, or by entering on the Pork Be inspired Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded every day from the hottest cookbooks and kitchen gear to an all-expenses-paid trip to Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, a catered Houston-inspired game day spread, and more.

NEW RECIPES SERVE AS INSPIRATION
The National Pork Board is inspiring #PorkNowSweeps submissions with new mouthwatering what's-hot-now recipes: 3

  • Japanese Pork Curry Bowl Your next meal is the perfect time to experiment with a new flavor. Traditional curry gets a new spin on it with this Japanese inspired stew-like recipe.
  • Tea-BrinEd Porterhouse Pork Chops A little prep overnight heightens the flavor of this delicious dish. These pork chops are brined with black tea and then finished in the oven and then featured alongside creamy greens and black-eyed peas.
  • Fennel and Chili-Rubbed Pork Roast An easy weeknight meal or a great entertaining recipe that'll impress your guests this rib roast is smothered in a fennel seed and a chili flake rub. Serve atop a Fennel Tomato Salad and prepare to wow everyone at the table.

3 Remember you'll want to make sure your pork is tender and juicy. Cook pork chops, loin roasts and tenderloin to an internal temperature between 145F (medium rare) and 160F (medium), followed by a three-minute rest. For ground pork, cook to an internal temperature of 160F.
