Joliet's first Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will be celebrating its grand opening Wednesday, June 10 with a huge grocery giveaway and family fun activities. The first 250 shoppers will receive a free reusable shopping bag filled with $50 worth of healthy and nutritious groceries! The store, located at 2700 Plainfield Road Suite C, will open its doors to shoppers at 7 a.m.

"We are excited about opening a store in the Joliet community and are looking forward to the opportunity to meet everyone at the grand opening celebration," said Fresh Thyme's CEO Chris Sherrell. "Our passion is improving the way people eat by providing fresh, organic, local and healthy offerings at a great value."

Fresh Thyme grand openings are best known for their grocery giveaway which attracts hundreds to line up hours early to ensure they receive their bag. Additional activities and giveaways will take place throughout the day with live entertainment, children's activities and food sampling, creating a day outing the whole family will enjoy.

"Grand openings are a lot of fun for everyone; it's our way of introducing ourselves to new neighbors and letting them see everything Fresh Thyme has to offer," said Sherrell. "Our focus at each of our stores is a large, center-of-store produce department to help make healthy decisions easy."

Fresh Thyme has recently centralized its corporate operations to the Chicago area and considers the greater Chicago area its hometown. Every Fresh Thyme Farmers Market also provides support to local organizations, schools or nonprofits who are making a difference within the community.
