Bar of the Week: BUSTAN on the Upper West Side

Bustan has cocktails that you won't fine anywhere else. This pan-Mediterranean, restaurant is true to its roots with totally inventive drinks. Mixologist, Kelsey Didit of the Wolf & Deer has created blends that are incredibly pleasing. Try the restaurant's signature drink, "Fig Lemonade" with house-infused fig vodka, St. Germain and ginger beer. "The Mediterranean" is a perfect combination of Cooperstown Gin and White Whiskey, Kronan Swedish Punch, lime juice, pear, and cinnamon garnished with lemon sugar and sliced pear.

For those that prefer, there is a superb wine list offered by the glass and bottle that includes many from the Mediterranean region. There's also a nice variety of beer on tap and by the bottle.

Bustan has a tempting selection of "Mazettim" or small plates that pair perfectly with their beverage program. You can choose from menu items like Hummus with pita garnished with hard-boiled eggs and warm chickpeas, Sizzling Shrimp, a Falafel Basket with tahini & pickled Mango sauce or Spicy Feta. A standout item is the Moroccan Cigars, crispy feuille de brick stuffed with braised short ribs, mushrooms & onion, served with tahini and harissa tomato salsa.

Visit Bustan for lunch, dinner, pre or post theatre and weekend brunch. You will likely become a regular at this popular Upper West Side restaurant.
