Washington Open DanceSport Competition is a 2-day event featuring American and International Ballroom Styles.

Featuring both Pro-Am and Amateur events, as well as Rising Start and Open Professional categories, there are opportunities for more than $50,000 in cash and prizes. This fabulous event has something for everyone; in fact, it can teach you to be better at your day job.

According to Valeh Nazemoff, the Executive Vice President of Acolyst, the techniques of professional dancers can help anyone improve and succeed professionally-even if they have two left feet.

"Many of the 'moves' needed to succeed in the boardroom can be learned in the ballroom," says Nazemoff, author of The Dance of the Business Mind. "You learn to map out your business strategy like a choreographer, become a better listener by learning when to 'lead' and when to 'follow,' and of course, you gain confidence. In all, the better you are at dance, the better you are in business."

Ms. Nazemoff will also be on hand at the event, dancing with World Champion Riccardo Cocchi on May 5, and can discuss:

- The top 10 lessons you can learn about business from a professional dancer

- How freeing your mind to dance can help you make better decisions in the workplace and achieve desired results

- Why positive thinking and visualization can help you perform at your highest level-in business and in dance

- Successful business partnerships require you to get in sync with your colleagues-they take communication, rhythm, and a shared purpose

- How to make sure that your "steps" (your business plan) match your "music" (your goal) so you can succeed in the best possible way

- The value of mapping your business strategy like a choreographer, creating a plan of action before taking to the stage

So put on your dancing shoes, bring your 'business mind,' and get into the rhythm!
