Third Annual Underground Comedy Railroad Tour Set for 2/7-28
The 3rd Annual Underground Comedy Railroad will makes it's way across Canada February 7-28, 2014, in honour of Black History Month. The tour features seven top-notch black comedians - TRIXX, KEESHA BROWNIE, GILSON LUBIN, RODNEY RAMSEY, ANDREW SEARLES, KWASI THOMAS and DANIEL WOODROW - hitting nine cities from Montreal to Victoria.
The Underground Comedy Railroad Tour was created by Rodney Ramsay and Andrew Searles in 2012 to create opportunities to introduce the voice of black Canadians to new audiences. The 2014 line-up of comics were selected for their hilarious, and uniquely Canadian, comedic perspectives on everything from race relations to everyday life.
THE 2014 UNDERGROUND COMEDY RAILROAD TOUR LINE-UP:
TRIXX is a regular on Much Music's Video On Trial and Stars Gone Wild. He has opened for Russell Peters, Sugar Sammy, Tracy Morgan, and is a favorite at the Nubian Disciples of Comedy, hosted by Kenny Robinson.
KEESHA BROWNIE is a comedian, actor, singer and producer - unquestionably a "Jill" of all trades. Most recently Keesha was featured on CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, and created the popular Jokers Corner show in Brampton.
GILSON LUBIN, originally from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia and raised in Canada, has appeared on career launching platforms including HBO's Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Comedy Network's Comedy Now and the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
RODNEY RAMSEY is a Montreal-based comedian who has been featured on CBC's The Debaters and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and Super Channel's 24 Hour Rental. Rodney's charming persona and ultra-magnetic stage presence made him an audience favourite in the Just for Laughs Homegrown Comedy Competition in Montreal and when performing with Second City's The Bench in Toronto
ANDREW SEARLES has been named in the "Top 10 Best Stand-up Comedians in Montreal" four years straight by the Montreal Mirror, and has been featured on XM Satellite Radio's Laugh Attack, NBC's Last Comic Standing and iChannel's No Kidding.
