The Continuing Story Of Carla Rhodes is a comedic rock'n'roll ventriloquism extravaganza about a young gal's dream of hitting the big time in New York City. Carla, who was dubbed one of "Ten New Comedians Funny People Find Funny" by New York Magazine, brings her sassy adventure to life through her clever quips, punky puppetry and killer live band. Time Out New York says the show "is an idiosyncratic neoretro blend of ventriloquism, rock music and comic storytelling" and according to Backstage, Rhodes is "intent on shaking up the norm."

Assisted by a cast of colorful characters she meets on the way from teenage frustration to artistic satisfaction, the audience is introduced to legendary rockers Mick Jagger and Keith Richards; Herschel Ragbottoms, an unsightly pigeon who lives under old newspapers in Tompkins Square Park; the fear-mongering and manipulative Under Bed Alligator; and everyone's favorite cantankerous, salt water taffy obsessed 1920's gentleman: Cecil Sinclaire! Your socks will also be rocked by Rhodes' shreddin' live band The Extravaganzas.

Who is Carla Rhodes? We're glad you asked. Carla Rhodes has been practicing the art of ventriloquism since the age of 9, after seeing ShAri Lewis and Lamb Chop on television. And to Carla's absolute delight, was later mentored by her hero. Escaping her country roots in Kentucky, Carla then hoofed it to New York City. She's since performed up and down and all around town... From Joe's Pub to opening for The Eels at Terminal 5. A bit of a media darling, Rhodes has appeared in numerous publications: from Paper Magazine to Penthouse Forum and even garnered a shout-out on The Late Show With David Letterman! Recently, Carla and her sidekick Cecil were shot by celebrity photographer EJ Camp and are permanently installed in the Rivington Hotel, alongside luminaries such as Betsey Johnson, Michael Musto and Debbie Harry, solidifying her footing as a sparkling downtown personality!

The Continuing Story Of Carla Rhodes is Carla's first full-length show, which combines her love of rock'n'roll, ventriloquism and comedy. The show debuted to a sold-out crowd at Arlene's Grocery in January 2010, followed by performances at Galapagos Art Space, Joe's Pub (Critic's Pick in Time Out), Ars Nova's ANT FEST and in Spring 2011 appeared at Scotland's Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

If you're looking for a unique evening unlike anything you've witnessed recently in the fading downtown scene, look no further... The Continuing Story Of Carla Rhodes has arrived!
