Philly Improv Theater Announces Shows, Now thru 7/8

With the 4th landing on a Wednesday, you may find yourself in the middle of a five day weekend with lots of extra time to celebrate the US of A. And what better way to celebrate than to see our freedom of speech at work?

Thursday night we have a return of the ManiPedi/Feeko Brothers combo, back by popular demand. On Friday night you get a chance to perform yourself at the only sketch open mic in Philadelphia - Sketch Up or Shut Up. Saturday is packed with improv comedy starting with the new improv duo, Whisper, ending with an improv jam and squeezing amazing PHIT house teams in between. And you can't miss Sunday night's FREE SHOW, The Deans present Hot for Teacher, where the instructors of PHIT show you how it's done.

If you are a fan of one person shows you will want to come out to the Shubin theater early on Friday night for Jackpot! Written and performed by Luis Sosa, Jackpot! is the true story of how one desperate man's journey to find a lost lottery ticket forces him to look at his life and re-evaluate his priorities. The show had its debut at the Tower Theatre in Miami in 2004. Subsequently, it had a run at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it received FOUR STARS in The Scotsman. Jackpot! was recently performed at the UCB and iO West theaters Los Angeles.
