Austin Theatre Project Kicks Off 2017 Season with Award-Winning [Title of Show]

[title of show] tells the story of two good friends, Jeff and Hunter. They have always dreamt of doing something important in the world of theatre. Another theatre festival is coming soon, and they decide to write a musical and participate in the event. They have little time, as in only three weeks left, but they try their best.

The boys bring in Heidi and Susan for further help and inspiration and the four decide that they will submit whatever they have written when the three-week deadline arrives. [title of show] is a show about dreams, friendship, and above all else, it is a tribute to everything musical theatre.

Austin Theatre Project kicks off its 2017 season with this award-winning musical. ATP Artistic Director David Blackburn says, "When we were picking our shows for 2017, we wanted to include a couple of shows with small casts so we could take advantage of the wonderfully intimate confines of the Trinity Street Black Box Theatre. [title of show] is the perfect show for this theatre and we are thrilled to have the absolute perfect cast to kick off our sixth season of shows."

Austin Theatre Project is thrilled to have an Austin theatre stalwart Andrew Cannata make his ATP debut in the role of Jeff, the young and struggling composer and lyricist. Joining Andrew in the role of Hunter, the book writer is Craig McKerley (First Date, Sweeney Todd). Jennifer Coy Jennings (The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Bending Broadway 5) will be seen in the role of Heidi, a friend of Hunter's who keeps finding herself in the chorus of Broadway shows. Rounding out the cast is another newcomer to ATP, Emily Smith. Emily is playing the role of Susan, a friend of Jeff's.

[title of show] is directed by Audrey Barrett, who will be making her directorial debut with ATP. She will also be playing the role of Mary, the show's accompanist. Artistic Director Blackburn will be serving as Music Director and Chris Ehresman (Great American Trailer Park Musical, Bending Broadway 4 and 5) will choreograph the show. Lighting design is by James Jennings and sound is by Jeff Miller. Veronica Prior will be designing costumes and the set will be designed by David Blackburn.

[title of show] opens February 3, 2017 and runs through February 18. All performances will be at the Trinity Street Black Box Theatre, located at 901 Trinity Street. For tickets and information, visit www.austintheatreproject.org.
