The Riviera Casino & Hotel has welcomed some of the funniest people onstage at the Riviera Comedy Club since opening in 1955, from Bob Hope and George Carlin to Gallagher and Andrew Dice Clay.

Now the iconic club is looking to give one rising star the shot to be a featured comic on the Las Vegas Strip. A total of 16 comedians will be selected from submitted entries and invited to perform in a weekly, live competition each Saturday from Mar. 23 - Apr. 13 at 10 p.m. The winner of each of the four live performances will compete for the title of "Riviera Featured Comic" during the finale on Saturday, Apr. 20.

"There are genuinely funny people out there, whether novices or experienced comedians, who are just looking for their big break, and we're inviting those funny people from around the country to join the competition," says Mark Massimino, director of entertainment at Riviera Casino & Hotel. "Winning this competition would be a great resume builder for any comedian, and who knows, we may even find a new regular headliner."

Comedians are invited to upload a 3-5 minute performance video to the Riviera's Facebook - http://a.pgtb.me/rpZzFk or by mailing in a DVD of their performance to the Riviera. Entrants must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID and cannot have performed at the Riviera in the past three years. A full list of rules can be found at www.RivieraHotel.com
