Western Wind Vocal Sextet to Present 'WOMEN OF NOTES' Concert

The Western Wind vocal sextet will present Women of Notes - Women's Music, Women's Words on Saturday, March 25 at 8:00 PM in Church of St Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street in Manhattan.

Women of Notes - Women's Music, Women's Words features medieval chant by Hildegard von Bingen,
baroque music by Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, and C.M Cazzolani, part songs by Fanny Hensel, Rebecca Clark and Amy Beach, along with contemporary works by Tania León, Martha Sullivan, and Flowing Light by Matthew Harris: a setting of poems by Wu Tsao, China's 19th century lesbian poet.

Western Wind members are Linda Lee Jones, Michele Kennedy, sopranos, William Zukof, countertenor, Todd Frizzell, David Vanderwal, tenors and Peter Walker, bass.

Guest performers will be Carlene Stober, viola da gamba & Arash Noori, lute and theorbo.
